5. Insurance. Most credit cards now come with vehicle rental insurance already on it if you use it to pay for the rental.  Check with your bank to see if your card has the insurance on it already… if it does, then you can save the $20+ and decline the insurance at the rental company.
6. Minimize. Most of us would love the convenience and the room of a big SUV rental.. but do we really need it?  Taking the compact or mid-sized rental can save lots of cash vs the big SUV rentals.
7. Be a Weekend Warrior. When possible, take advantage of weekend rentals.  Lots of cars rentals are half the price on weekends.  Why?  Individuals typically rent on weekends and companies rent during the week.  To attract people to rent during weekends when most companies don’t need car rentals, they offer huge discounts.
